Welcome to FastPlaySports.com  We are so excited to start this journey into the world regional sports with a strong focus on youth athletics. Like all startups, it hasn’t been an easy road to get to this point but with perseverance we made it. This is the same determination that athletes use to overcome their hurdles in sports. This is why we feel youth athletics in particular are so important. It teaches so many valuable life lessons during a time that is critical in a child’s development. Kids will start to become the person they will be for the rest of their lives around the age of 13. We need to make sure this is a positive time in their lives....

The student debt crisis continues to grow larger and more dangerous. With the rising price for a college degree, students face an evergrowing problem of large amounts of debt post grad. This has been the status quo for a long time but the debt ratio is growing faster every school year and is becoming increasingly harder for students to pay back with an average balance of more than $27,000, according to a new report from the Joint Economic Committee. Interest rates on federally subsidized Stafford loans could double from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent if congress fails to take action. “Allowing the interest rate on subsidized Stafford loans to double at a time when the government’s cost of borrowing is so low undermines the public policy objective of providing affordable loans to students,” the report explains. “The increasing debt burden presents challenges for recent graduates just beginning their careers and poses a potential risk to the economy, since individuals who shoulder heavier debt balances may delay purchasing a home, buying a car, starting a family and saving for retirement.” The top 10 are as listed below: 10. Pennsylvania 9. Michigan 8. Rhode Island 7. Indiana 6. Maine 5. Montana 4........

By Allan James (Fast play Sports) You can’t ignore a pure fact, that in game one of the Kokomo Sectional (Tuesday Night, March 4th), both Marion Coach James Blackmon Sr. and Logansport Coach Pat Skaggs, are relying on their own children to lead their teams to victory. In turn, these children won’t be able to escape from their Coach as they balance their teen-age lives in preparation for IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament. For Blackmon, a 1983 graduate from Marion, his son, James Blackmon Jr. leads the Giants in scoring with an average of 34 points per game. “Junior” is savoring a regular season team scoring record of 1685 points. The total eclipses the previous record of 1578 held by the 1987 Giants team. Plus, Blackmon is a candidate for the McDonald’s All-American Team and perhaps an Indiana Mr. Basketball and has signed with the Indiana Hoosiers. The move from Fort Wayne has turned out pretty good as the Blackmon family comes home to where “Senior” scored 1897 career points as a Marion Giant, I should point out that Junior has eclipsed that career total as well, however, not all with the Giants. In articles written about this family, it’s clear.......
